Sunny Days: A Celebration of Fun for Kids with Cerebral Palsy

Overview: Sunny Days is a vibrant outdoor event designed specifically for children with cerebral palsy. This inclusive day focuses on creating joyful, accessible experiences that foster friendship, creativity, and movement in a supportive environment.

Age Range: 5-15 years old Cost: Free (donations encouraged) Schedule of Activities:

10:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Welcome & Registration

Check-in at the Welcome Tent. Participants receive a special “Sunny Days” t-shirt and a personalized name tag.

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM: Opening Circle

A warm welcome from event organizers. Group icebreakers to help kids make new friends.

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Activity Stations

Adaptive Arts & Crafts: Create colorful art using accessible materials. Stations include painting, collage making, and sensory art. Nature Exploration: Guided sensory walk with opportunities to touch, smell, and see different plants and textures in the park. Gentle Movement Zone: Fun movement activities designed for all abilities, including stretching, dancing, and yoga led by a certified instructor.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM: Lunch Break

Picnic-style lunch with a variety of kid-friendly, allergen-free options. Seating areas with shaded tents for comfort.

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM: Interactive Activities

Music and Rhythm: Join a music therapist for a lively session with instruments, singing, and movement activities. Animal Encounters: Hands-on time with therapy animals from a local organization, promoting engagement and joy.

2:30 PM - 3:00 PM: Group Games

Inclusive games adapted for different abilities, such as “Balloon Relay” and “Parachute Fun,” ensuring everyone can participate and enjoy.

3:00 PM - 3:30 PM: Closing Celebration

Reflection circle where kids can share their favorite moments. Certificates of participation for all attendees. Raffle draw for fun prizes!

Additional Features:

Accessibility: The park is fully wheelchair accessible, and all activities are designed with adaptations to ensure inclusivity.

Trained Staff: All volunteers and staff have experience working with children with cerebral palsy, ensuring a supportive atmosphere.

Quiet Zones: Designated quiet areas for those needing a break from stimulation.

First Aid: Medical personnel will be present throughout the event for safety.
